What to do in Roosevelt

A friend of mine who has lived here all his life visited a busy metropolis and told us, "There's just nothing to do here, the city has so much more." While Roosevelt is small and there aren't any sports teams or malls (not even a Burger King), there is a lot to do in the Uintah Basin. In fact, there's a magazine called 101 Ways to See and Do the Great Uintah Basin. While some of these things are cop-outs (eating watermelon, stargazing, etc), there are many events to see and places to go. We have decided that we're going to try and do all of them (slightly motivated by a competition). So here are photos from our first adventure:

Red Fleet State Park

#2 John Boy Trail north of Vernal in Red Fleet State Park
#22 Drive north of Vernal on 191 and see formation signs
#38 Visit Red Fleet state park north of Vernal

Here's the Goose with her new-found camera smile. Outside the car is one of the formation signs. It should say: Caution-Velociraptors. The Goose had been eating as ferociously as a velociraptor in the car up to this point. In the picture she's holding what's left of her sandwich.

On the John Boy trail--the cliffs jutting out in the background are supposed to look like a fleet of red ships.

She's a good little hiker, like her mom and dad.

The Goose loved getting inside the rocks. I had to put her in this one, but she had so much fun. And she was absolutely distraught when we made her leave.

What a day.

Look forward to more to come!
